[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Shelly is as sweet as they come—she’s a great listener, is thoughtful, and you just want to grab a cup of coffee with her and just chat about life. I enjoyed photographing her, but I loved even more watching her see her images for the first time during the Zoom image reveal—she was tearing up with joy, and that truly warms my heart.
Below is her client interview—take a moment to read over her responses and see her beautiful images… then contact me to schedule your own session. (Yes, you are “brave enough” to do this.)
There has been a lot of anticipation leading up to my session. My consultation was in early 2021 and due to COVID delays, I completed my session in April.
I immediately could tell that Shannon is very organized, detail-oriented, as well as personable.
My favorite part was the session because it was something NEW that I’ve never done before and I felt like part of a creative process! I liked that I was included in every part of the planning and had a really great time with the entire experience.
Not at all! I love makeup and I felt like a rockstar the entire day.
It did feel a bit awkward and wondered HOW is this going to look good in a few of the positions, but I cannot emphasize enough how much you will learn about posing during this process. I encourage you to PAY ATTENTION to Shannon and you will even learn the intricacies, like how to hold your hands in a photo! I remember one photo in particular, with my back leaned up against the wall with my hands wrapped around my torso that I felt FOR SURE I was going t look squished and fat! This ended up being one of my two favorite pictures.
Oddly enough, even though I can be super critical of myself, I was excited about both the session and the reveal. I had an excellent time. I tend to be comfortable in my own skin, even if I tend to pick myself apart at times.
I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t like my images. I gained weight over the last two years and expected that I might be really upset that I looked fat.
My mouth dropped open and I felt my eyes fill up with tears. It was breathtaking.
I’m still letting the entire experience “sink in” and I can sense that something has changed in the way that I perceive myself!
I critique everything, by nature, so I can be very critical of myself in photographs. That’s not to say that I never see myself as attractive in photographs, because I do, but I’m still my worst critic! How are these portraits different from photographs in the past? In almost every way, that’s how! lol
I have been told that I’m photogenic and I’m relatively comfortable in front of a camera, but I was never a fan of smiling in photos. I really love the happy, playful pictures…was a total shock.
I didn’t have a ton of concerns per se. I was just a bit concerned that I would spend the money and at the reveal think that I looked fat! lol
Yes! I had a blast. I love the outcome, absolutely, but I absolutely loved the process more than anything. It’s like a spa day on steroids.
100 percent! It’s an empowering experience and a ton of creative fun.
I will be back….maybe for my 45th birthday!
