I was contacted by celebrity nursery designer (and Carrie Underwood look alike), Sherri Blum Schuchart, owner of Jack and Jill Interiors, located in Carlisle, PA, because, in her words, “As a 47-year-old mother, I was beginning to feel as if age was catching up with me and I was losing my youthful beauty.”
How many of you ladies feel the same way about yourself? (I can relate, getting ready to turn 40 this month.)
Sherri asked that her boudoir images remain private between she and her husband, which of course I agreed to do—below are some of my favorites from her contemporary glamour portion of her session.
Take note of that stunning purple dress she is wearing that I rented her—would you believe she tried to tell me she usually wears black and was hesitant to try such a fab color?

How long have you been waiting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
I’d always wanted to experience a boudoir photography session and had been putting it off for years. I finally decided that I’d treat myself to this experience and give my hubby a Christmas gift he would never forget!
What made you decide I was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
I researched several area photographers online and reviewed their portfolios. Shannon’s photos were a notch above the rest for sure. After speaking with her on the phone, I found her to be personable, honest and easy to talk with. This was definitely a woman I could feel comfortable working with for such an intimate project!
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
All of it! The planning was fun because I had the chance to really think about what I wanted with the use of the Pinterest board. During the session I felt very comfortable and the reveal was exciting and brought tears to my eyes!
What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I couldn’t believe it was me! Very glamorous!
How did shooting this session with me change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I’m feeling much better about aging. I was beginning to feel less sexy as I approach 48 and felt it was “do or die” with regards to ever obtaining boudoir photos that I could be satisfied with having. Your photos made me feel beautiful and youthful. I am thrilled with the images and much happier about my “old” body!
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
I have always been told I was photogenic, but this proved it to me!
Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images? Yes, I was. You put a lot of effort into making this an EXPERIENCE and not just about that one day of shooting. I’m going to miss you!
Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with me? Because they won’t find a more professional or detail oriented photographer who has this level of talent anywhere! Every woman should know and appreciate her own unique beauty and you are just the person to bring that out in someone and help them to shine!
