Client Interview: Miss K
I recently did a session that produced amazing portraits for my client, Miss K, but she opted to not have any of her images posted online (because I offer a 100% privacy policy), so I thought I’d intertwine images from 2014 between her client interview.
How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? About 6 months from hearing a friend had completed a session with Shannon. There were a lot of milestones for the year that lead me to actually looking into the session rather than just thinking about it.

What made you decide I was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? I prefer to work off of references and when my friend had shared about her working with Shannon, its comforting to know that someone you know has had a good experience.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? The planning. I liked taking the time to look up ideas and outfit options.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself? That can’t be me, it doesn’t look like me.

How did shooting this session with me change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident? I feel like I am more aware of myself and my appearance where as I felt that I put myself on the backburner with having children, so remembering to give myself a few minutes to put on makeup or do something different with my hair or even something as simple as slip on some jewelry to feel less in the background of day-to-day activities.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now? No I did not, I would say it definitely has helped my perception of feeling photogenic as well as some helpful tips on how to position myself for pictures.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer? My concerns I guess was something I didn’t realize until the process started. It’s one of those things where you don’t know what you don’t know until you know. 🙂

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images? Yes a little bit, it was nice to get excited about being able to do something for me.

Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with me? The session reminds you to be a woman again, not just a mommy or a wife, the experience is focused on you as a woman in a feminine aspect. Yes it’s nice to have the husband involved and enjoy his reaction to the pictures but I felt like this gave me an inner respect of myself again and Shannon helped through the entire process of booking the session to contributing ideas to working through my ideas in the eye of a photographer.
