She decided to do the boudoir session because of her milestone birthday, as well she wanted to do something special for her husband who is a police officer.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
I honestly had never thought about doing a photo session until I started seeing everyone’s pictures/blogs on Facebook.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
There were so many positive comments from clients. Not to mention that her pictures speak for themselves.
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
Oh my, so hard to say. All of it was great.
Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Absolutely not! I left there with my head held high and I felt amazing!
Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward?
No, I trusted Shannon, and again, her pictures speak for themselves.
What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal?
I was nervous in different ways about both. I was out of my element for sure with the session, but everyone put me at ease. I was nervous about the reveal, even though her work is amazing.
Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images?
Of course, but I was confident because of her previous work.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
Well, let’s just say, I needed tissues. I cried and couldn’t believe how great they ALL turned out.
If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Absolutely. She knows what she is doing and I honestly was not worried, she prepared me ahead of time.
How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
It makes me feel that I can look like this, with work of course. I am more confident and will start to make some changes with makeup application.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
No way, I was never even able to take a selfie. I will be trying some of the poses she taught me.
Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
I had never even considered a having my pictures taken.
Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
It was a great overall experience!
