It’s currently July 8, 2020–hard to believe it’s already been six months since I shot this ballerina boudoir session! I cannot wait to get back into the studio and create…
I have been wanting to photograph a still-practicing ballerina since I started shooting boudoir in 2014, but I never had client book a session with me who could still do Pointe, so I took matters into my hands and did a model search for two women who would come to the studio and let me be creative.
I’m used to photographing stationary subjects, so to photograph a twirling woman and get everything timed correctly (feet look good, outfit looks good, face looks good, hair looks good) was a challenge. My heart is so filled with joy over the results I am bursting.
It was also fun to edit and crop these images different from what I normally do. Hair/makeup credit to lead stylist Nath, and a big thank you to my assistant, Dianna, for help toss the fabric.
Next week is ballerina #2!
