I love-love-love posing women. I love teaching a woman who normally has a double chin in photographs how to diminish (and many times completely eliminate!) it. I love showing a woman how to define a waistline and enhance curves. And Kristen is an excellent example of these techniques. (I made sure to show her the back of the camera several times so she could see her non-edited images.)
Below is Kristen’s pre-session interview—I wanted to know a bit more about her and her ‘why’ behind the boudoir session. Hello! I’m Kristen! I am a bank manager—I’ve been in banking since right out of high school. I am married with two amazing daughters and one adorable granddaughter. I am a huge animal lover! Currently I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Since both of my kids are grown and out of the house, our pets have become our fur kids.

I absolutely love spending time with my family. It is hard for all of us to get together leading such busy lives and my one daughter living in another state, so when we can be together I cherish it. They make me laugh! I’m grateful they turned out to be such strong and independent women. One of the scariest things I have done is apply for a manager position. I started out as a teller. I’ve learned a lot over the years and I saw an opening and went for it. I had to interview in front of a whole hiring committee. There were some really good candidates. I got the job! Definitely helped boost my self confidence! I used to be very thin and over the years I did put on weight. I usually have good self esteem but there are times, like all women, when my weight does bother me. When I decided I wanted to do a boudoir session I second guessed myself. My girls told me to do it and it would be good for me.
I’ve always wanted to do a session but always made excuses why I shouldn’t. For example, I would tell myself I should lose weight first or question if I should really spend the money, etc… but I realized if I don’t do it now I never will and I’ll regret it. Plus I’ve seen the photos of girls who have done it and they look fabulous! I just think it would be a fun experience and something I can keep and be proud of, you only live once!

Out of my session I hope to definitely get more confidence and have a day I can remember where I did something for myself and had a lot of fun doing it! I think as women we always put everyone before ourselves so this is something I can do for myself and have a great memory.

So far my experience has been so fun, there is a lot more [to this experience] than just the day of the session. I love looking at the different styles and picking out what I like and don’t like. I think the anticipation up until the day is half the fun. I love the Facebook group, everyone is so supportive and positive. I think it’s important women build each other up and help each other out and this experience is definitely a positive one.
