I enjoyed photographing her, but I loved even more watching her see her images for the first time during the Zoom image reveal—she was tearing up with joy, and that truly warms my heart. Below is her client interview—take a moment to read over her responses and see her beautiful images… then contact me to schedule your own session. (Yes, you are “brave enough” to do this.) How long have you been wanting to do a session? There has been a lot of anticipation leading up to my session. My consultation was in early 2021 and due to COVID delays, I completed my session in April. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your session? I immediately could tell that Shannon is very organized, detail-oriented, as well as personable. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? My favorite part was the session because it was something NEW that I’ve never done before and I felt like part of a creative process! I liked that I was included in every part of the planning and had a really great time with the entire experience. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? Not at all! I love makeup and I felt like a rockstar the entire day. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? It did feel a bit awkward and wondered HOW is this going to look good in a few of the positions, but

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mary-Ann has the sort of energy that I love photographing—fun, willing to step out of her comfort zone, and even though she’s been through several years of emotional pain from losing a baby in 2010, she is full of laughter. Below is my interview with Mary-Ann before she did her session… Tell me a bit about your life. For example: Married? Single? What do you do for a living? Dogs? Kids? I am a two-time divorcée who just turned 40 in November, have been in my current relationship for almost four years, teach math to middle schoolers, have a daughter, and own a Goldendoodle. Now, tell me a bit about you. For example: What makes you happy? What makes you laugh? Tell me about a time you did something that you were scared to do and you came out on top. Have you had struggles with your weight? Do you struggle with low self-esteem? I never thought I struggled with confidence until recently, but I do. I have gain quite a bit of weight and happen to be at the largest weight I have ever been. I lost a son in 2010. He was a beautiful baby boy named Matthew who would celebrate his 11th birthday on April 26. I have really had my struggles with that, but have come to the other side of it where I can put one foot in front of the other. It took many many years, suicidal thoughts and counseling to bring me to the other side, but I did survive and carry his memory with me every single day. On a happier note, I love my job and adore middle schoolers! The drama is exciting and their personalities are unpredictable. I enjoy being in the sun, in a pool, on a raft tanning.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Boudoir shower scenes are fun, intimate, and work for all body shapes. There is no additional cost in 2021 to add a boudoir shower scene to your session. To achieve the wet look, I spray your body with a combination of water and glycerin (glycerin is actually a moisturizer, so you may find your skin is super soft afterward)—this helps the water stay beaded on your skin. And because I’ll also spray your hair, we’ll save this scene for the end of the session. Not sure what you’d wear in the shower? I’m going to help you figure out all of your outfits before you even step foot into my studio—schedule a consult to learn ‘how.’ FIT/CUT MATTERS I want to share images a recent client sent me as she was trying to figure out what bathing suits to wear for her shower scenes… All five suits are an XL, but not all five flatter because of the fit/cut of the suit. Let’s discuss the why… Starting at the left: This is one of the suits she selected to wear because it provides great coverage/support of her bust but still shows cleavage. I knew we could hike the legs up just a bit to add length. We both loved this suit! Again, provides coverage/support, and the legs could be hiked up for length. Plus, the pattern/cut helps define the waistline and it draws the eyes away from any pooch she may want to diminish. She did not go with this suit because she is falling out of the sides/offers no support for her bustline. We liked the top/fit, but the bottom is too square and it makes the legs look shorter. Again, we liked the top/fit, but it didn’t wow us like the first two suits did. So what is

When I asked her why she is doing her boudoir session, she said, ‘I’m hoping to be a little more confident of how I look and feel about myself.” Below you’ll find my interview with Ginger—take a moment to read over her answers and see if you relate to how she was feeling… then contact me to schedule a phone consult so we can discuss how you envision your own session. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? Yes. I thought some of these will not turn out right. What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal? Why? Reveal. I was scared of how the pictures would turn out. How did I look? Did my hair and makeup look good? Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why? Yes. I didn’t think I would like any of them. What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself? I was blown away. Never did I think I could look like I did in

This session was just for fun! Also for fun are the behind-the-scene images—I think it’s pretty neat to see how the pose looks from the outside, and then see the actual image I took.
