Laura did her first session in November 2019, loved it so much, that she came back again in 2020 to shoot a second boudoir session. And as I had hoped, the second time around she was calmer during the planning/session, and was able to relax faster and have fun. (I love working with repeat clients!). This was my second photo shoot. I was excited because I had already done a shoot in Nov 2019 and back then, I remembered being scared. I didn’t know what to do or expect. Now this time, I was feeling much more confident and knew just want to expect. I scheduled my [second] shoot for May 2020. Then COVID-19 hit and everything was shut down. I was bummed because my shoot was on hold for months. I had months to think about my shoot, what to wear, etc. On top of that, being a nurse, COVID did its job throwing even more stress on me. I was deployed to the local hospital treatment tent, being right in with the virus, donning PPE, being on my feet all day, working long hours, long days and even shift work. At that point, I knew I wanted to incorporate my nursing career into my photo shoot. Finally, Shannon was allowed to re-open her business and we were able to schedule my shoot for Nov 2020. I was much more confident and ready to go. I knew I wanted Nath to do my hair and makeup knowing she would make me beautiful. Again, she worked her magic.  Now it was Shannon’s turn. Always so sweet and calm, and guiding me along the way. Telling me just where to stand. It was extremely windy that day and the clouds were causing havoc with the sunlight coming in the window. I think most people will agree that 2020 was the longest/fastest year ever. January and February started out strong with boudoir sessions, then fizzled thanks to COVID-19… But look at all that I still accomplished this year! A total of 27 amazing women were in my studio between Jan-Feb and July-November. Here is just a few of those 27 women: I earned 8.5 “Portrait Masters Bronze” awards which go towards me earning my photography accreditation. My goal for 2021 is earn the remaining 16 points required for Associates Level. I’m already planning my submissions for January 2021. I know 2021 is going to be a slow start in terms of new boudoir sessions, as I’m rescheduling clients to later in the year because of COVID-19 numbers increasing, but I cannot wait to see what amazing things next year brings. Tifany did her boudoir session for herself. Recently divorced, she moved from Ohio back to PA to start fresh, and doing a boudoir session was just one of the things she was doing to celebrate the positive changes in her life. During her virtual wardrobe consult, Tifany mentioned she had her eye on a red teddy but wasn’t sure if she’d look good in the color (black is her go-to color), but after I encouraged her to get the teddy, she kept remarking during her session how much she liked the color on herself. Brogan is a wife and momma to a toddler who was feeling stuck in the “Mom Mode” and wanted a reason to get glammed up for a day, so she decided a boudoir session with me would be perfect. While planning her outfits for the session, she expressed her love for a white peplum top she owns, so I told her to bring it along—after all I do shoot contemporary glamour as well. “I was so nervous to work with Shannon for my session! I felt like I had lost my identity a bit after becoming a mom, add on to that the year of COVID, and the world lately is anything but a positive place! When I got to the studio, Shannon immediately made me feel comfortable. The studio was welcoming and inviting and she had such a carefree attitude from the get go that it made me settle in very quickly. After the amazing hair and make up transformation, we started with a contemporary glamour look, which I loved! It made me feel fierce and powerful and gave me the confidence I needed to feel like more than just a mom! By the time we made it through four outfit changes, I felt like I wanted to start all over again! It was so much fun.
