Kaylee is a bundle of happy energy! She talks about me making her feel at easy, well she did the same for me—I felt like I’ve known her for years, just laughing and catching up on times. Kaylee wrote a wonderful review that I’d like to share with you… I wanted to reach out to everyone who is thinking about doing a photo shoot. I know it’s scary, can leave you feeling with a ton of anxiety, or even think it’s too expensive and not worth it. I want to say all your feelings are valid I felt all that and more. For those reasons I wanted to explain the amazing empowering session I had. I walked thru the door and I wanted to leave. I felt so anxious, I felt ugly, I thought so many times this is a waste of time before we started. I was more wrong than I could have ever imagined. I was terrified my makeup was going to be ugly (seriously, I saw many [beautiful] pictures on here and still [worried] it was going be ugly). After the hair and makeup artist finished… I was speechless. I looked in the mirror and started to tear up. I had never felt so beautiful in my life. I was a princess. Next came the outfit, now mind your I am a plus size girl. I am never truly confident in myself. I put the outfit on and the ladies made me feel amazing. I felt glamorous, sexy and comfy. Shannon took my first couple pictures, she showed me 1 and I about cried. I told her I couldn’t see anymore. I couldn’t see it because of the overwhelming beauty she had made from a photo of me, and it wasn’t even photoshopped. The rest was just
Shanna & Duran: Couple’s Boudoir Session | Carlisle PA
In late 2018/early 2019, I worked on a personal project called “Bottle-Feeding Mommas,” where I photographed mommas bottle feeding their babies, and one of my models was Shanna and her then five-month-old daughter. Shanna was super easy to pose and I secretly hoped I’d get to work with her again… and I did! She and her husband recently did a couple’s boudoir session and at their image reveal, both exclaimed I really captured the bond between them. Take a moment and read over Shanna’s client interview, and if you’re interested in a couple’s boudoir session, contact me today so I can answer your questions. “When I contacted Shannon about a couples shoot, I was terrified. I was excited to do the shoot but wanted to surprise my husband—and was terrified he’d hate the idea. Shannon was so wonderful to work with me and keep all of our planning on the down low until I decided to tell him. He actually embraced the idea a lot better than I thought. We were both very nervous the day of the shoot but having been photographed by Shannon before, I desperately wanted the opportunity for her to catch some intimate moments between us. If anyone could do it, I knew it would be her. Not only did she help us shake the nerves off pretty quickly, she was also able to capture the love between the two of us. Goal definitely accomplished. I love our images!!!” —Shanna How long have you been wanting to do a session? A year. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your session? Prior work. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? Reveal!!! Did you leave your session worried about your
Client Interview: Stefanie | New Cumberland PA Boudoir Photography
Stefanie surprised me during her boudoir session—I was expecting her to be shy during her session, but she relaxed and really enjoyed her time! Below is my client interview with Stefanie… take a moment to read through her answers, and then contact me so we can discuss your own session. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your session? Shannon did a session with a lady and shared her story that just blew my mind. So it made me want to [do a] photo shoot like Shannon does. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? My favorite parts where going to Underneath It All to try on lingerie for my session, just having a great time learning, and getting an experience I never did before. Also when I had my session, just being in a room with amazing woman who have the experience and love for what they do. The reveal was my favorite part—just seeing my photos and the amazing work Shannon did was outstanding. I still just like to look at my photos and see how different I look and how good the photos look. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I left loving everything they did. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? Yes I did leave feeling that the poses where a little awkward, but I knew Shannon knew what she was talking about. What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal? The session. Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why? I knew I would love my photos because Shannon
Kristy 2020 | Camp Hill PA Boudoir Photographer
Kristy shot a boudoir session with me in August 2018, and then late last year, she booked a second session for February 2020… but then had to travel out of town for work in February, so we rescheduled for March 2020… but then COVID-19 forced me to temporarily close the studio in March… She finally got into the studio in August and it was worth the wait—she spent the months between March and August hitting the gym and changing her eating habits for a healthier lifestyle. Kristy was excited to show off her hard work, and she wanted to incorporate her love of the gym into her session, so my goal was to create portraits that showcased her fitness, emotional strength, and femininity. The image below was a challenge to hold—I wanted her on the ball of her back foot for the image, and it took a lot of balance! I struggled just trying to show how I wanted her to pose, but she pulled it off like a champ. I loooooooove this bodysuit! And doesn’t Kristy resemble Faith Hill? I had to be creative to incorporate the 20# dumbbell. I love the juxtaposition of the lace bodysuit next to the heavy weight. Think this looks like fun? Well it is! Tamra | Carlisle PA Boudoir Photographer | Shannon Hemauer Photograhy
Tamra is one of those women whose energy just makes me laugh! She is easy to talk to, and her smile lights up the room—I can clearly see why her boyfriend recently proposed to her! But Tamra didn’t do her boudoir session for her fiancé—she wanted to do a session to celebrate turning 60 this year! But it was still important to her to work into her session something that means a lot to her man, so we found a creative way to incorporate a Peterbilt hat, since he’s a truck driver. Plus you can see her bling-bling! Earlier this year I added to the studio wardrobe an over-the-top mauve-colored tulle robe… my husband calls it the “Rick Flair robe,” which you cannot deny there is some truth to that statement. You also cannot deny the robe looks amazing in images—look at all of that heavenly tulle surrounding her! We finished her session with her channeling her inner vixen. This year, 2020, is fully booked, and 2021 is quickly filling up, so if you’re interested in doing your own boudoir session, please contact me today to discuss how you envision your experience.
