If you’ve been following me for a bit, you know about my I BELIEVE Project, which is my way of giving back to the women of my community. I’ve had women who are cancer survivors; dealing with depression/anxiety; and a male-to-female transgender teenager. All have amazing stories. For this year, my Project recipient is Sarah, a 25-year-old woman who had prophylactic double mastectomy on July 5, 2018. Her session is planned for later this year. Images are of past recipient, minus one, who had asked her story be removed for personal reasons. You can see the recipients’ stories at . Contact me today to schedule your phone consult! Morgan | Unexpectedly Vintage | Shannon Hemauer Photography
Morgan did a boudoir session years ago, in her younger days before she became a mother, so she was rather comfortable with the planning process for her session with me. What neither of us expected is how vintage her boudoir look would turn out—such a pleasant surprise and perfect for her! Below you’ll find her client interview—please take a moment to read through her responses, and if you find that you can relate to her, please contact me to schedule your complimentary phone consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have done boudoir before in college but before becoming a mom, so I figured I needed something grown up and more elegant, and because I had recently lost a little weight. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? Shannon’s professionalism and her body of work. I loved the idea of her process and how she works with a team to accomplish everything. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? The session was quite fun! I love getting my makeup and hair done and trying on different outfits! Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I always wear makeup and make sure my hair is done wherever I go so I wasn’t too worried although it is a bit more dramatic than I would normally have done. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? I mean the poses aren’t something you do on a normal basis. It isn’t like lounging around the
Mrs. L. | Hunting Bow Boudoir | Shannon Hemauer Photography
Mrs. L. is a newlywed—she did her boudoir session as her wedding-day gift to her now-husband—and really wanted to make her session something special to her groom, so she snuck his hunting bow out of the house…and then prayed he wouldn’t decide to go target practicing while she had it at her session! Thankfully all was well and we were able to pull everything off without him being none the wiser. 🙂 Below is her client interview—read through her answers and if you find that you can relate, contact me today to schedule your complimentary phone consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? Honestly, I never really thought about it before. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? I first saw that she was a friend of a friend. Looked into her work and decided why not. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? The entire process was terrific. Can’t say I liked one part over another. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? Makeup was definitely heavier than I normally wear but I put all my trust into Shannon and her team. They know best, this is what they do. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? Yes, I did feel like the posing was awkward, but again, I put all my trust into Shannon. What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal? I was more nervous about the session. Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d
Amy: Turning 50 with Grace
Amy, who is a paramedic (which I learned is different than an EMT!) is turning 50 this month, PLUS she’s lost 26 pounds on Weight Watchers. She decided to do the boudoir session because of her milestone birthday, as well she wanted to do something special for her husband who is a police officer. Below you’ll find Amy’s client interview. The gray shirt Amy is wearing in one of the images is her husband’s police shirt…for privacy I’ve removed the shirt patches. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I honestly had never thought about doing a photo session until I started seeing everyone’s pictures/blogs on Facebook. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? There were so many positive comments from clients. Not to mention that her pictures speak for themselves. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? Oh my, so hard to say. All of it was great. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? Absolutely not! I left there with my head held high and I felt amazing! Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? No, I trusted Shannon, and again, her pictures speak for themselves. What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal? I was nervous in different ways about both. I was out of my element for sure with the session, but everyone put me at ease. I was nervous about the reveal, even though her work is amazing. Did you arrive to the reveal worried if
Emily | Batman Boudoir | Central PA
Emily took a lot of persuasion from me to keep her session date. She had gained about 15 pounds and was just certain she was going to look fat in her portraits. After many emails back and forth, I convinced her to let me try…if she didn’t like the outcome, well then she didn’t have to purchase any. She left her reveal with them all. <3 Below is her client interview—if you read through her answers and find that you can relate to her, please contact me today to schedule your phone consult. During the planning of her session, Emily confessed she’s a huge Batman fan, so with a bit of brainstorming (and the addition of the studio’s sheer cape), we came up with an outfit to pay tribute to her favorite super hero. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I’ve been wanting to do this for about two-three years. I decided to do something for ME! What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? I read your bio and looked over your photos and felt that you are really talented and professional. And also felt the importance of you being a female American Veteran. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? The entire experience was a blast…from getting the initial phone call from Shannon, to planning my outfits—over and over again—to the emailing my many questions back/forth to Shannon. The day of the shoot was so exciting and fun. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like
