Brooke booked a session with me because she wanted to have a contemporary glamour portrait of herself that her daughter would cherish once the little girl was older. Brooke has such an image from her own mother and she understands it’s important to exist in photographs for the ones you love. But she also wanted to do a boudoir session to celebrate her life as it is now—she recently lost weight, ran a marathon, and got divorced. I’m sure you know by now that I start all of my boudoir sessions with my clients fully clothed so they DO have portraits they can give to their children, and most clients want to start their session wearing the included dress rental (Brooke was no exception). Below you’ll find Brooke’s client interview. Now, you’ll only find two images from her session in this blog post because, as I’m also sure you know by now, my clients are the one who decide what I can share publicly, and Brooke asked that the majority of her images remain private. Please read through her responses to her interview, and if you find you can relate to her, please contact me today to schedule a consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have always admired these photos and thought they might be amazing to do. It was probably the last three or so years that I really thought, ‘You know, I’d like to do this one day’ and with recent weight loss, a race accomplishment, and a divorce, I thought it was now or never. I had also wanted to capture a timeless portrait to gift to my daughter for some time as I have one of
Melissa | Boudoir | Carlisle PA
Melissa was such a delight to be around! She told us the morning of her session that she was sick with bronchitis but you’d never know it—she showed up smiling and left smiling. And her hair was so much fun! Below you’ll find her client interview—take a moment to read through her answers, as you may be able to relate…and if you do, please contact me today to schedule your consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I saw a Facebook ad one day while mindlessly scrolling through and it caught my attention. I pondered it for about 4-6 months before inquiring with Shannon. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? I looked though her photos and was amazed. She has a true talent. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? Favorite part? I cannot decide between the shoot and the reveal. The shoot was truly empowering. I’ve had body-image issues my whole life. But when I was with the ladies I was so comfortable. I felt beautiful and absolutely amazing. Then the reveal, just wow. I couldn’t believe how amazing it was and I definitely hold my head a little higher now. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I was worried about my makeup. It was a lot more than what I normally wear. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? The poses felt awkward but I wasn’t worried. I trusted Shannon. What were you more nervous about—the session or the

Shannon’s page popped up on my Facebook page and I knew right away I wanted to do something like this. Just took me a little to build up the confidence to call her! What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? Her pictures on her website were amazing. All her previous customers only had wonderful things to say about her. I felt comfortable from the first time I talked to her. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? Maddie | Boudoir | Mechanicsburg PA
Maddie is friends with Dianna the Assistant—Maddie’s boyfriend and Dianna’s husband are stepbrothers—and over the Christmas holiday Dianna shared her boudoir photos she did with me with Maddie. Maddie knew at that moment she wanted to do a boudoir session for her boyfriend. Below is her client interview, with of course, a few images from her session. Please read through her responses to my answers, and if you can relate to what she said, please contact me today to schedule your consult so we can discuss how you envision your session. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I had been thinking about doing a boudoir session ever since I found out my boyfriend was being deployed. I knew this was the right time for me because I wanted to give him the portraits as a going away gift. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir session? Shannon’s assistant, Dianna, recommended Shannon to me so I did some research and decided to set up a consult. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? I honestly loved everything about the whole experience. The excitement began during my consult and carried through purchasing my lingerie, to the day of the actual shoot, and then seeing my photos on reveal day. [NOTE FROM SHANNON: She bought the heels in the next image at The Shoe Dept. at the Capital City Mall in Camp Hill.] Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I was slightly concerned about my makeup, because I’m normally super low-maintenance
Michelle | Boudoir | Lancaster PA
Michelle is a quiet woman who booked a boudoir session with me because she wanted to step out of her comfort zone—she wanted to give her husband a Christmas gift he wouldn’t be expecting! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall and watch him open his gift Christmas morning. 🙂 I love mirror shots—you get to see the front and back of an outfit! Look how happy Michelle looks! I love-love-love my sheer curtains! They hide what we want to hide and show what we want to show. Plus the sheers really soften the image and make the client look just so dreamy. Looks like fun, yes? Well it is! Contact me today to schedule a complimentary consult to discuss how you want to be photographed. A big thank you to my lead stylist, Nath Kreider, for a wonderful job on Michelle’s hair and makeup. Until next time, Shannon Contact me today to schedule your phone consult!
