2022 Year in Review Shannon Hemauer Photography

I admit it, creating these reflection posts makes me tear up with happy tears. After almost nine years of exclusively shooting boudoir, still cannot believe that little ol’ me makes such a positive difference in these women’s lives. That to most of them, I was a stranger they were willing to trust—trust that I know what I’m doing, trust they could be safe with me, trust they would love the experience and their images. The fact I get to do this full time… WOW. AMAZING.

Did you know you can have stretch marks AND be beautiful?

Let me give you a little background on this video…

My team and I got together recently to take updated team photos, and Athena the Stylist arrived with her makeup done and her hair in rollers. I took one look at her and said, ‘I need to take photos of you like this! You look amazing.’ She just happened to be wearing a cute bra/panty set, she threw on a lace top from the studio’s wardrobe, and I set to work taking some ‘getting ready’ video/photos that transitioned into more sultrualty content.

This past summer, I lost both of my parents, put on 25+ pounds, and turned 50! To say I did not feel sexy/beautiful/even human is an understatement. My sister purchased this as a 50th birthday gift and a forced me to put myself first for change. Being the medical guru for the family, I always put everyone else’s needs long before my own. I have to say, spending the day w/ people catering to ME, making ME feel good, and like the person I know I have buried in me was breathtaking! Allowing myself to be 100% vulnerable for my own benefit was so freeing! Shannon & her crew make you feel so comfortable & allow you to be vulnerable & let your inner goddess run wild! This experience has made me feel like a human being again! Like the beautiful 50 year old I am! Thank you so much to my sister for “forcing” this on me and for Shannon & her crew for bringing out the best in me! -Pam

I was so nervous about having boudoir pictures taking. My husband, who I have been married to for 20 years, has always wanted me to have pictures taken. He found Shannon, we scheduled a phone conversation, and I was good to go with it after we spoke to her. We had a few hiccups along the way and had to push the session a few times, and Shannon was so accommodating the whole time. The day finally came, and I was nervous!!! But once the studio door opened and we met Shannon, my nerves went immediately away.

I had such an amazing time, from getting my hair and makeup done, to getting dressed up. It was perfect! I will definitely be doing this again and hopefully with my hubby the next time!! Thank you, again, Shannon! You are a personable and fantastic photographer. -Christina
