Press Release: “I BELIEVE Project” Recipients Announced for 2017 | Shannon Hemauer Photography
BOUDOIR AND CONTEMPORARY GLAMOUR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER SHANNON HEMAUER ANNOUNCES THE RECIPIENTS FOR THE 2017 I BELIEVE PROJECT: TESSA AND MARY. The I BELIEVE Project, which first started in 2014, is Air Force veteran Shannon Hemauer’s way of giving back to her community by offering women a complimentary boudoir or contemporary glamour portrait session with the goal to help each recipient see herself as feminine, inspiring, and powerful—sometimes for the very first time in her life. The Project got the name of “I BELIEVE” because Mrs. Hemauer believes women should experience what a confidence builder and transformation a portrait session is for women. “It’s more than ‘just’ a photo shoot—it’s this amazing transformation I get to be a part of for each client.” Mrs. Hemauer stated. Mrs. Hemauer hand-selects the recipients based upon their inspirational story, determination, and resilience in spirit. Previous recipients have been breast cancer survivors; a male-to-female transgender; and, a domestic abuse survivor. For 2017, Mrs. Hemauer selected Tessa, a 29-year-old woman currently receiving treatment for ovarian cancer; and, Mary, a 26-year-old woman working to understand her depression/anxiety. Tessa’s session was held in early February 2017; Mary’s session is scheduled for October 2017. Featured Video: Tessa Included with each I BELIEVE Project session: Portrait Session: A boudoir or contemporary glamour portrait session, including dress rental, and an 8×10 album with up to 20 edited images from the portrait session. Flashback: Don’t Be Afraid to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone | Shannon Hemauer Photography
Valentine’s Day is next week, and I wanted to mention how great a gift card to go towards a boudoir or contemporary glamour portrait session with me would be to give to your wife or girlfriend. (I can snail mail or email the gift card—you decide what works best for you.) Now, some may argue a gift card is an impersonal thing to do BUT the experience she’ll have before/during/after her session is very personalized—from helping her plan her outfits, to posing her for her specific body, to her portrait reveal. So let’s do a flashback blog, so you can see how Lisa personalized her boudoir session. Posted March 7, 2016. Lisa, a momma of three, wanted to give her husband some amazing portraits of herself as his Valentine’s Day gift. Originally her session was scheduled for January 24th, but getting three feet of snow made us have to reschedule. Lisa was feeling a bit adventurous while planning her outfits and ordered her corsets from Hips & Curves—a site that makes Alisha the Assistant drool! Seriously nice quality if any of my curvy readers are looking to add a little fun to their own wardrobe. I love the green color of the dress on her—really brings out her blue eyes and looks great on her skin tone. It’s so much fun to be able to include a dress rental with all boudoir and contemporary glamour portrait sessions—and then I never rent that dress again, truly making it a unique look for my clients. This pose flatters every woman! Lisa stepped out of her comfort zone and ROCKED both of her corset looks. (And Alisha the Assistant is still drooling over the corsets!) Teresa | Shannon Hemauer Photography
Teresa is a sweet, thoughtful, and quiet bride-to-be who really wanted to step out of her comfort zone with her boudoir session. The session itself isn’t a surprise to her husband-to-be but he’ll have to wait until their wedding day to see the stunning album we put together filled with Teresa’s portraits. Teresa wanted to have a black-and-white-outfit theme, so for the first outfit we paired the black tulle skirt I have in the studio with her long-line lace bra to create a very elegant contemporary glamour outfit. We changed gears and softened things up by wearing a veil and sheer nightie. Then back to a black outfit… The next outfit was the last white outfit—I did several shots of her putting on her wedding dress, which gave us some great tush shots—but that out must remain a total secret until after their wedding. A big thank you to Ashley Becker for styling Teresa’s hair and makeup so beautifully. If you’re getting married and are considering shooting a boudoir session for your husband-to-be, please contact me today so we can schedule your complimentary consult. On average I book up for sessions six months in advance so you don’t want to wait until the last minute to contact me. Allison | Shannon Hemauer Photography
Allison is newly engaged and wanted to do a boudoir session for her husband-to-be. During her wardrobe consult, we decided she should tea-stain the pure-white corset she purchased from local lingerie boutique Underneath It All, which really added a nice warmth to the color—really gives the corset a vintage feel, don’t you agree? AND the corset matched the insanely huge tulle skirt I have in the studio wardrobe perfectly. I think it’s safe to say Allison did a great job kicking 2017 off for me. Are you getting married and want to do a boudoir session? Please contact me today to schedule your complimentary consult so we can chat about how you envision your session. Thanks to Nath Mao for doing a fantastic job on Allison’s hair and makeup.
