Wifey-Who-Is

Wifey-Who-Is I’ve been shooting brides-to-be lately, but married women love doing their own boudoir session for their husband, so I coined the phrase “wifey-who-is,” and Mrs N is just that—she and her hubby have been married for almost 20 years in September and she wanted to give her hubby a gift that was sure to make him smile. (Wink wink) A big thank you to Takari Cheatham for doing Mrs N’s hair and makeup. Want to do a session for your hubby? Contact me today to discuss how you want to be photographed. Until next time, Shannon

Turning 40 Never Looked So Good

Turning 40 Never Looked So Good

Turning 40 Never Looked So Good Jenn and her husband, Bob, have become friends to me and my husband since Jenn’s first session in October 2014. Bob decided earlier this year to treat his wife of almost 11 years to a full contemporary glamour session to celebrate her upcoming 40th birthday. Jenn rocked her session in October, but what was great about her being a returning customer—she was relaxed and into the groove from the first image. She knew what to expect and it shows in her images. The plan was to shoot outdoors in this first dress, but it was a hot and humid Sunday morning and I was not about to risk her hair and makeup to the humidity, so we improvised and shoot indoors. When we first started planning this session, I always envisioned Jenn in a form-fitting black gown—my dress vendor didn’t disappoint with the gown I picked out just for her to wear. The off-the-shoulder gown was perfect for her. Happy 40th dear friend! Hair & makeup credit: Ashley Becker. Looks like fun? Yup! It is. Contact me today to discuss how you want to be photographed. Until next time, Shannon

Client Interview with Miss E, the Bride-to-Be

Contemporary glamour Shannon Hemauer Photography Dillsburg PA

Client Interview with Miss E, the Bride-to-Be I took a few moments to chat with the Miss E to see what she thought about her experience and her images. How long have you been waiting to do a boudoir session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have wanted to do a boudoir session since I met the man of my dreams and got engaged last year. I had the idea in the back of my head and decided it would make the perfect wedding gift to surprise him on The Big Day. What made you decide I was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir session? I looked into a variety of different boudoir photographers, most of them were primarily wedding photographers that also did boudoir—but the samples that were made available for viewing weren’t quite the style of was going for. I wanted that look you see on Pinterest, or in a Victoria’s Secret Catalog. I literally stumbled across Shannon’s site via a Google search, and after viewing samples of her work I knew that she was exactly what I was looking for in a boudoir photographer. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? It’s hard to pick just one favorite part of the entire experience because everything from the Pinterest board creations, to the emails communicating back and forth, to getting “glammed” up on shoot day, to the reveal session have been so fun to be a part of. If I had to pick just one, it would probably be the actual shoot day. It’s the day where all your planning comes together and gets put into action! What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?

The Future Mrs B’s Session

The Future Mrs B’s Session

The Future Mrs B’s Session Amore is in the air, and that is proven by the number of bridal boudoir sessions I’ve been busy shooting. And, just like the other bridal boudoir sessions I’ve been doing, I cannot openly display those images BUT I do get to share the Future Mrs B’s contemporary glamour images. She went with a casual glamour look—she feels beautiful in a crisp white blouse, her favorite pair of jeans, and that amazing red hair. Thank you to Nath Mao for doing the Future Mrs B’s makeup and to Takari Cheatham for styling her hair. Are you a bride-to-be or a wifey-who-is and want to do your own boudoir or contemporary glamour session? Contact me today so we can discuss how you want to be photographed. Until next time, Shannon

Miss E, Bride-to-Be

Miss E, Bride-to-Be

Miss E, Bride-to-Be I think I need to change my 100% privacy policy to be 100%-I-need-to-show-your-stunning-images, because Miss E has some of THE most stunning boudoir images but I’m not allowed to share them publicity. Boo. But happily I start all boudoir sessions out with a contemporary glamour outfit, and Miss E lucked out and had two amazing gowns to wear. I had originally rented just the blue gown for Miss E’s session, but a slight hiccup on the vendor’s end enabled me to get her a second gown to wear—I went all bling-bling for her! She followed my directions with posing so easily, connected with the camera like a pro, and made it difficult on me to narrow down her best shots because they were all so good. Miss E is getting married to Mr. R, a handsome man who sort of looks like a cross between Russell Crowe and a young Ray Liotta (well, in my opinion at least, and since I’m the one writing this blog, that’s the opinion that matters.) Anyway, Miss E and Mr. R were set up by mutual friends and he charmed her by his love of gravel (inside joke 😉 ) and she charmed him by justing being awesome, of course. When Miss E arrived for her session, I asked her if she’d be willing to shoot a bit outdoors—the weather was a perfect spring day and I knew I’d get some amazing natural light kissing her skin. Mr. R is a huge James Bond fan, so we brought in a martini glass for some fun, like we did in the image above. Miss E saw her images last Friday and had a difficult time picking out her favorites because she loved them all. Looks like I did my job well once again! I’m
