[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] BAMBI: PART 2 HER SCARS & ROAD RASH In last week’s blog I told you about Bambi’s motorcycle accident and how a year later she did a session with me because she wanted to stress the importance of wearing a helmet. She had a vision of herself wearing a show-stopping gown and holding the helmet that saved her life. She wanted a statement piece. She also did a session because she wanted to really be able to look at the scars and road rash and accept her ‘new’ body. Now, I said in last week’s post, this is Bambi’s third session with me, and I never know what she’s going to wear. I think in the eight years I’ve been shooting, she’s the only one who will show up not having discussed outfits prior at the wardrobe consult because she doesn’t have time to schedule one… She’s a farmer’s wife, the go-to person for their business, and between farmlife, being a wife, and their children, she is always on the move… Here’s an example of what I’m talking about: As I’m setting up one of the shots in the dress, she gets a phone call that she needs to take… so I felt it was totally appropriate to get a candid shot of her on her phone. Anyway, getting Bambi to commit to a wardrobe consult has proven to be hopeless… So when she showed up, I really had no idea what she was wearing (but having selected great choice for her other sessions, I felt confident she’d nail it.) Don’t you agree she looks beautiful, scars and all?   Her bra and panty set was perfect to pair with the obnoxious tulle robe in the studio closet. Do you have scars that you want to learn to love?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] BAMBI: PART 1 THE HELMET In September 2021 Bambi did her third session with me. Her first boudoir session was in the fall of 2019, then she did a couple’s session with her husband in January 2020 (before the world shut down). But this year’s session was extra important to her, because it meant she was still alive. Bambi was in a horrific motorcycle accident the summer of 2020—she was on the back of her husband’s bike, the stem of the bike’s rear tire blew, causing the tire to lose air, which caused the tire to catch a rut in the road, which caused the bike to lurch in a way that caused Bambi to go flying off the bike and hit the ground. The truly amazing thing—she fell away from oncoming traffic; she missed flying into the guard rail that could have split her into two; and, three off-duty EMS men were riding in the opposite direction and saw it happen/were on the scene before her husband even realized what had occured. For the first few days in the hospital, the diagnosis was grime—she had severe brain swelling, her left shoulder was shattered, and she had road burn on her arms/back/side/knee. Her family, as they watched her on a ventilator, was preparing for her to die. And if she didn’t die, the doctors expected her to have brain damage. BUT! If you know Bambi, she is one tough chick—she was fighting to live for her husband and their young children. (AND there was no way she was going to die wearing a hospital gown!) She fought HARD! And by a miracle, she was back home within (I believe) 30 days of the accident! There is some brain damage but she’s overall her pre-accident self, her shoulder had to

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] I was so nervous to reach out to Shannon, but when I did she walked me through this whole process step-by-step—her patients, her attention to detail during the planning and during the session itself and afterwards—I was so impressed and I walked away from looking at my pictures and from my session just believing in myself more and feeling more confident in myself.–Missy Missy did her boudoir session as a celebration of becoming an empty nester—she felt it was time for her to focus on herself for a change, and she had a blast doing so! Below is her client interview with a few of her images sprinkled throughout… take a moment to read things over, and then contact me to discuss how you want to be photographed. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session? Years and years. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot? The professionalism I saw her pictures on her Facebook page and the tastefulness. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal? Without a doubt the session itself. Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? No, I left the session super excited about my hair and my makeup—I loved it! Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward? No, Shannon walks you through everything step by step, detail by detail. What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why? The session itself just because I was a little nervous about posing and how I would look.. Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] This boudoir experience with Shannon far exceeded my expectations. I always wanted to do a session, but kept waiting for the “right time.” The truth is, there was no right time- it’s always a good time! I’m as introverted and shy as they come and honestly if I can do it, anybody can! I thought I would have the most challenging body type to shoot, but Shannon and her team made me feel at ease and she knew just what to do and how to pose me. Her talent and professionalism is best of the best. She guides you through every step in the months, weeks, and days leading up to your session. She’s always available for questions and reassurance. She understands the nervousness and hesitation that some may have, and really helps you through it. Every single fine detail is thought of and planned for. The hair and makeup artist is out of this world amazing and Shannon’s assistant is so kind, helpful, and fun! If you are considering a session and having any doubts, I would highly consider scheduling a consultation. This is an experience you will never forget or regret! I look forward to doing another session down the road!–Morgan Morgan is not joking when she says she’s shy! But I was able to help her to relax and come out of her shell just enough to have a fun time at her boudoir session. Below you’ll find her client interview—take a moment to read over her responses and see her images sprinkled throughout, then contact me to discuss how you want to be photographed. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session? I’ve been wanting to do a boudoir session for a number of years. I first contacted Shannon back in 2018
