BOBBIE & KARL’S COUPLE’S BOUDOIR SESSION

Bobbie did a one-woman boudoir session with me in January 2022, and had such a fun time, she and her husband, Karl, did a couple’s boudoir session in March of the same year. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
Karl: Spur-of-the-moment decision.
Bobbie: After my personal shoot, I really wanted us to do a couple’s session to capture our connection.
What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
I knew she was the only option! After feeling at ease and having a blast at my personal shoot, I knew we would feel comfortable…without a doubt!
How did the reality of your session compare to your expectations going into it?
Better than expected! Despite being in potentially awkward positioning and “scantily” clothed, we felt comfortable to express ourselves and focus on each other with the guidance from the expert team members for positioning.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
Karl: Session itself and being able to view the unedited photos.
Bobbie: Image reveal, for sure!
Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Nope!
Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
Nope!

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
Karl: Having never be in one before.
Bobbie: Session, just not knowing exactly what to expect.
Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
We felt confident in Shannon’s abilities and also knew we had amazing shots from the individual session I (Bobbie) had done.
What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
Wow, we look amazing!

How did shooting this boudoir session change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident? How has the experience affected your morale?
Feel good before, during, and after.
Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
Yes, Karl and I both work hard to stay physically fit and it can be different being viewed through a “lens.” The professional aspect, including the posing and camera angles Shannon gets highlight the best parts!
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
Karl: No, but little bit more now!
Bobbie: Shannon’s angles and knowledge about what is best to display is so reassuring and helps you feel more photogenic.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
Getting the images I expect to receive/value for the cost.
Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Absolutely!
Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
