CHRISTINA’S BOUDOIR SESSION

I was so nervous about having boudoir pictures taking. My husband, who I have been married to for 20 years, has always wanted me to have pictures taken. He found Shannon, we scheduled a phone conversation, and I was good to go with it after we spoke to her. We had a few hiccups along the way and had to push the session a few times, and Shannon was so accommodating the whole time. The day finally came, and I was nervous!!! But once the studio door opened and we met Shannon, my nerves went immediately away.

I had such an amazing time, from getting my hair and makeup done, to getting dressed up. It was perfect! I will definitely be doing this again and hopefully with my hubby the next time!! Thank you, again, Shannon! You are a personable and fantastic photographer. -Christina

Christina’s husband booked her a session to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. We tried to convince her hubby the day of the session to join her in some of the photos, but he said the next session they’ll do is a couple’s session and he’ll wait until then.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
It has been a long time.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
My husband was the one who was looking because he has been wanting to have photos taken of me. He found her on Google and searched through her pictures and contacted her. Once he talked to her, he told me about it, we scheduled a phone conversation, and it went from there.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
The session was an amazing experience! Shannon and her crew made me feel so comfortable… Definitely doing this again! And the image reveal!!! Ohhh my!!! We were soooo excited for the day!!!

Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
I absolutely LOVED my hair and makeup!! It was perfect.

Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
Nope! I trusted Shannon. She explained the poses beforehand and did not disappoint.

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
I was nervous about the session. Never did this before. But once I walked in the door, my nerves all went away.

Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
No not at all.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I was so happy to see the pictures. It all came together perfectly.

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Yes! I loved it! The portraits we saw were beyond words!

How did shooting this boudoir session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
It made me realize that I was confident all along. Needed to put myself in the situation to know that.

Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
I am at times, especially depending on the angle. Taking selfies, deleting them because they looked horrible. It stinks. But Shannon explained to me how to pose in certain positions and why to pose that way… it made so much sense. Seeing the image revel, oh my!!! She is CERTAINLY experienced in doing what she does!

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
Money, and feeling uncomfortable. But the money is so worth it, and the being uncomfortable, that subsided right as soon as I saw Shannon.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
I was. I had so much fun!! Doing it again!!

Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes I would!!! I already told a few people about it!

Is there anything I could have done to improve upon your experience?
Nope! Not at all! You went above and beyond what I expected!

When should we schedule your next session?
Hopefully soon!! I want my hubby [in the photos] with me next time!!
