As an incentive/reward for reaching her goal weight, Jess shot a boudoir session with me—she chats about her experience in this client interview.

How long have you been waiting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
I waited several months due to wanting to reach a weight loss goal prior to doing one! I wanted to do the photoshoot to capture the hard work that I did to get that far!!!
What made you decide I was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
I did research on the internet and found your site. Your portfolio was wonderful and all of the [testimonials] had nothing but great things to say. Once meeting with you over Skype I knew you’d be the perfect match!
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
The whole thing was my favorite part!!! From Skyping, to picking out the dress, to the entire session, and of course the reveal!!!!!
What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
Wow! I can’t believe how far I have come! You captured exactly what I had hoped you would!

How did shooting this session with me change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
Absolutely. You can look at yourself every day in the mirror with clothes and think you look one way, but until you see yourself in photographs like that you don’t realize how truly beautiful you are!
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
I had been in pageants my whole life so being in front of the camera was not a concern; being in front of the camera with less clothing on was a different experience. But the environment was so laid back and comfortable with everyone who was there that I was not nervous at all.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Actually yes, I knew it was going to be a little bit of fun but I didn’t realize it would be as much fun as it was. It was exceeded my expectations and I didn’t want it to end!!!
Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with me?
To document how beautiful they are for years to come – not necessarily for someone else but for themselves!
