I’m always surprised at how often I hear from a client they don’t think they are photogenic—Heather was no exception. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I don’t believe there are non-photogenic women. Instead, I believe there are women who haven’t been taught how to pose in front of the camera. And that’s where I come in. It’s my job as a boudoir photographer to know how to pose women well of all shapes and sizes.
Honestly, those who think they are non-photogenic are my favorite woman to work with because I get to prove them wrong! I love watching their face light up as they see their images for the first time, as they realize YES! I do look amazing in photos.
It’s also my job to bring out a client’s personality during her session—Heather asked during her wardrobe consult if there was a way to incorporate her love of coffee (she special orders her coffee from monks!). I asked her to bring a favorite coffee mug and we’d see what we’d get…
Heather also wanted to do something special for her boyfriend, who is an avid bicyclist, so she incorporated a cycling shirt and we made sure to not zip it up too far.
Let me ask you: do you think you’re un-photogenic? Did you read Heather’s quote at the beginning, where she said she was un-photogenic? Um. Yeah. You can clearly see this woman IS totally photogenic! (I was actually surprised when I read her testimonial!)
