Kelli’s Boudoir Session

Brent was on a mission to find her a boudoir photographer who he felt could capture the beauty he saw in his wife—it was Brent who did the initial phone consult with me, and it was then that he explained how amazing he felt his wife is, and he expressed how much he loved her. It was really nice to speak to a husband who is still, after years of marriage, smitten with his bride. When I asked Brent why he wanted his wife to do a boudoir session, he made it clear that it was so she could see how beautiful she is, that the session was for HER.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
Actually my husband introduced me to boudoir about a year ago.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
Reviews we found on the Internet.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
Getting my makeup done!!

Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Makeup was a lot. When I got home my son asked, ” You sure you got enough makeup on today?” LOL

Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
Nope. Shannon explained everything as we went through the poses.

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
The session. I can be a bit of a control freak and this is something that I have never done so I didn’t have control over it.

Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
Some what. I just never thought I look good in pictures.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
That’s not me! That girl is beautiful!!!

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Wasn’t worried about that.

How did shooting this boudoir session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
That I DO have a nice smile.

Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
I truly don’t get photographed that often, but yes, these are by far the best photos of me. I think it may be the one-on-one preparation that Shannon puts into before the photo shoot.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
Yes, Shannon gave me some good tips on posing.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Yes, loved seeing the finished pictures.

Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, Shannon is very knowledgeable and makes the process fun.
