When I got engaged, I knew I wanted to gift my fiancé with a bridal boudoir gift. I also knew I wanted to get some more intimate shots with my wardrobe that I will only ever wear one time. My gown, veil, shoes, garter and ever my bridal robe all played a part in creating the perfect look for my shoot. When planning, I expressed this to Shannon and she went with all of my crazy ideas and was sure to incorporate all of my favorite wardrobe pieces. While my goal was to do a bridal shoot, I still felt sexy and glamorous and Shannon capture that side of this bride to be. -Kelly

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
From the time I got engaged, I knew I wanted to gift my fiancé with a bridal boudoir session. Nearly a year later, we made it happen!

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
I saw Shannon’s bridal sessions and knew that her bridal look was what I wanted to go for.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
I truly enjoyed the session day. From start to finish. I went to hair and makeup and felt glamorous. Then Shannon posed me and made me feel beautiful!!

Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
I am used to heavy makeup from stages, so that did not bother me .

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
I was more nervous about the image reveal because I had a vision in my head of what I wanted them to look like.

Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
At first I in was worried due to my body type, but then I saw the first photo and was astonished!

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I was so amazed that Shannon and her team could take me and turn me into something that beautiful.

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
I loved the poses and know the makeup matched and photographed very well.

How did shooting this boudoir session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I am very confident in knowing that I will be beautiful walking down the aisle.

Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
I am overly analytical. I think the edits helped remove blemishes and imperfections and that made me feel more like a magazine model.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
My concerns were finding a photographer that would match the look and vision I was going for.

Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend Shannon to any of my friends looking to do a bridal boudoir session!!
