How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
For about a year. Shannon’s page popped up on my Facebook page and I knew right away I wanted to do something like this. Just took me a little to build up the confidence to call her!
What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
Her pictures on her website were amazing. All her previous customers only had wonderful things to say about her. I felt comfortable from the first time I talked to her.
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
I loved the whole experience. The session made me feel like a true woman. I felt amazing and sexy. I was definitely more nervous for the reveal! I’m very critical about myself and was worried how I’d look in the pictures.
Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
I thought the make-up was a little heavy, but I knew that Shannon/[lead stylist] Nath knew what they were doing.

Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward?
YES!
What were you more nervous about–the session or the reveal?
Definitely the reveal! Especially when you see yourself on the big screen.
Did your arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images?
Yes and no. I was worried I wouldn’t like how I looked because of being critical if myself/body, but knew what an amazing photographer Shannon was based on her website.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
WOW!!!
If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Absolutely!
How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
My self-esteem over the past few years was not great following a not-so-great end to a long-term relationship. This paired with always being self-critical about my body, I never really liked being in photographs. All I can say is I’m now feeling on top of the world! I love how I look in my portraits and I’ve realized I am a beautiful woman! All thanks to Shannon!!!
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
NO! Now…YES!!
Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
Wanted someone I could feel comfortable with. From day one, Shannon has felt like a friend!

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Yes!
Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with Shannon Hemauer Photography?
I think all woman deserve to feel like they are on top of the world!! And this is definitely a way to do it!
Is there anything I could have done to improve upon your experience?
Nothing at all!!! Loved every minute of it and cant wait to do other session some day!!!
