I really thought I would feel self conscious, but honestly didn’t feel that way at all. Shannon and her team always made me feel beautiful and always had positive comments and suggestions to make me look and feel my best. She even tried a new pose with me when I asked if she’d try it. Shannon gets right down there with you and shows you how to do the pose and is so patient. Her team was wonderful and sweet and I felt right at home. Just stepping up and making the decision to separate from my ex-husband was a huge leap. I also had to leave a job that I loved and start over with something full time to support myself and my daughter.
Being with John [signifiant other], friends, and family and enjoying time with them makes me so happy. John has a great sense of humor and we tease each other… he makes me laugh all the time. I especially love doing things outdoors, especially since I’m stuck in the office all day. My body certainly isn’t perfect and I have days of frustration, but I do try to work out, which always helps.
This is always something I’ve wanted to do, and I wanted to give John a special birthday/anniversary present. Plus just turning 50 felt like the right time to just go for it.
I definitely would like to have fun and just enjoy having my hair and makeup done. If it helps to give me more confidence as well, that would just be an added bonus!
