Missy did her boudoir session as a celebration of becoming an empty nester—she felt it was time for her to focus on herself for a change, and she had a blast doing so! How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
Years and years.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
The professionalism I saw her pictures on her Facebook page and the tastefulness.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
Without a doubt the session itself.

Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
No, I left the session super excited about my hair and my makeup—I loved it!

Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
No, Shannon walks you through everything step by step, detail by detail.

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
The session itself just because I was a little nervous about posing and how I would look..

Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
Yes, because I don’t believe that I’m photogenic.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I was 100% totally amazed.

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
I loved everything that I saw.

How did shooting this boudoir session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I absolutely left my session more confident in myself.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
No, I absolutely do not feel that I am photogenic at all, however after seeing my reveal I was super surprised to see that I guess I am.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
That the pictures would be tasteful.

Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
I would highly recommend Shannon and her team—they are professionals and their attention to detail makes you feel totally at ease. I had an amazing experience.
