TAMMY & GEORGE’S BOUDOIR SESSION
Before our session with Shannon, I could not see all of the positive changes I made in myself over the last 2 years. My husband tells me every day how proud he is of me and how much he loves me. Thank you Shannon! You opened not only my ears to his words but also my eyes and my heart to him. You captured love and pride that we have for each other but that we often don’t see because of our busy lives. I have often said I wish he could see himself through my eyes and vice versa… I can not say thank you enough! You have allowed us to do that each and every time we look at our beautiful photos. Tammy and her husband George were some of the nicest people I’ve met. It was actually Valentine’s Day when we did their couple’s boudoir session, and they showed up with a small bouquet of flowers for me, Dianna, and Athena, plus a box of chocolate that I took home and devoured with my husband. It was a pleasant surprise that I got a little spoiled that day. And let me tell you, this couple is IN LOVE with each other. Their affection to each other is so sweet… and George was always game for the kissing photos.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
At least 10 years.
What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
The professionalism that she displayed from our first conversation. She put me at ease from the start. I could tell that she was invested in giving me not only top quality pictures but also an incredible experience and a sense of confidence and pride in myself.
How would you rate your photo shoot experience on a scale 1-10?
Can I only go as high as 10??? My husband and I both agree that she far exceeded any expectations that we had and that it was definitely a 10 plus experience.

How did the reality of your session compare to your expectations going into it?
The reality was far better than I could have imagined. Both Shannon and Athena [stylist] helped with all of the preparation and wardrobe decisions and changes. I felt like a queen for the day with my handsome king right beside me! I looked in the mirror at one point between shots and it literally brought tears to my eyes to see how confident I looked staring back at myself while standing there in lingerie.
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
I enjoyed all of the steps but my favorite was the session. We had so much fun and I felt incredible and empowered. I believe those feelings and the passion that we feel for each other was definitely captured by Shannon.
Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Absolutely not! Athena was great! She asked me before we started how I typically styled my hair and if I was comfortable with my makeup being done. I had the opportunity at the end to view myself and ask for any changes that I might want. There was absolutely nothing that I would have changed. I felt confident, beautiful and beyond pampered!!!

Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
No not at all. I left feeling like I had just had one of the best experiences of my life.
What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
I was more nervous about the reveal. We had looked so forward to the session that I was afraid that I would not look good in the pictures and let us down.
Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
Yes, I had never thought that I was photogenic and especially was afraid of a boudoir session.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I could not believe what I saw!! I have never felt more in love with my husband or better about myself.
If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
I loved what I saw!
How did shooting this boudoir session change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident? How has the experience affected your morale?
I absolutely feel more confident and sharing the experience with my husband was amazing. I looked at the pictures of us together and I could see how much we still love each other after all of these years, 4 kids and 7 grandchildren. I would recommend every husband and wife go have a session with Shannon and her team!

Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
Yes, I am very critical of myself in photos. There a very few of me and my kids because I hated having my picture taken. I could see absolutely every imperfection. These photos are different because Shannon took her time and taught us life long tricks to having a good picture taken.
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
No I did not feel I was photogenic at all. I always closed my eyes and ruined most pictures. It always gave us a good laugh and my family would bet on if my eyes would be opened or closed. I love our photos and feel like the next Senior model!! Watch out Tyra Banks!
Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
Not knowing what to look for in a good photographer, I had no idea where to begin. I definitely would not have made it through or possibly even went through with it without Shannon’s help through each step.
Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Yes I never knew that I could have this much fun and feel this empowered by doing something for myself.
Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
Oh I would and I definitely will!! It was one of the best experiences that I have ever had. I can not wait to do it again!
Is there anything at all you wish we would have done differently or think we could do to further enhance the experience in the future?
Not at all. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and still can not think about the day without smiling!
When should we schedule your next session?
Same time next year!! Best Valentine’s Day ever!!
