URSULA’S BOUDOIR SESSION

Before doing the boudoir session with Shannon, I was very insecure about my body shape and appearance. This experience has helped me feel beautiful and sexy! I highly recommend a boudoir session with Shannon. -Ursula

Ursula has been married for almost 24 years, has three sons, and three dogs. Her husband had gotten her a faux-fur vest that she loved, so she wanted to incorporate it into her session—take a look and let me know if you think we did a good job.

Below her is client interview.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?
I recently had a friend do a boudoir session and I thought it looked interesting, so I started to do some research on the sessions and photographers in the area.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your photo shoot?
Shannon is local and I was familiar with her and her husband through my work with the our community. Additionally, her work is amazing!

How would you rate your photo shoot experience on a scale 1-10?
10 out of 10!

How did the reality of your session compare to your expectations going into it?
I was REALLY nervous about the session, but it was so laid back and fun. I would definitely do it again!

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the image reveal?
The image reveal was amazing!

Did you leave your photo shoot worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
No, not at all – I loved my hair and makeup!

Did you leave your boudoir experience worried that the posing felt awkward?
The posing was definitely awkward, but Shannon provided enough information prior to the shoot that I felt comfortable and trusted her.

What were you more nervous about—the session or the image reveal? Why?
The session! I have body insecurities so I was nervous about walking around and posing in lingerie.

Did you arrive to the image reveal worried if you’d like your images? Why?
Yes, I am not stick thin and don’t think I am overly photogenic, so I was definitely worried about liking the images!

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
Loved it!!!!

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Yes, loved it!

How did shooting this boudoir session change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident? How has the experience affected your morale?
Definitely feel more confident and beautiful after doing the session. The images are a birthday gift for my husband and I am so excited for him to see them!

Would you consider yourself a women who is very critical of herself in photographs? If yes, why are these portraits different from photographs in the past?
Yes, I love everything about my appearance in these photos – I feel beautiful and sexy!

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
No, but I now have some “tricks” to use to make myself more photogenic!

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
I did not have concerns about engaging a photographer – I have used photographers in the past – but I don’t always love myself in the photos.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Yes, I had fun at the session and during the reveal and I also had fun shopping for lingerie for the session!

Would you recommend a boudoir photo shoot with Shannon Hemauer Photography to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, it was an amazing experience and I am thrilled with the images.

Is there anything at all you wish we would have done differently or think we could do to further enhance the experience in the future?
No, I felt very prepared for the session.
